SASH CORDS
ADDITIONAL WEIGHTS WHEN REQUIRED
$25/Kg when windows are wrongly balanced.
Sometimes evident when old glass (2mm) has since been replaced with 3mm or heavier glass.
INSTALLING SOUND REDUCTION GLASS.
Vicinity $890 per window, which will include correction for weights in sashcord windows. Windows with spiral balances may require replacement balances if the weight bypasses existing weight rating for the balances.

WHEN THE TOP SASH IS COMPLETELY PAINTED IN
Add $50 plus new cords and any correction for weight.
SPIRAL BALANCERS
Occassionally, in very old windows, the routed cavity housing balances down the side of timber window sashes requires routing to 15mm. If not done, the new balance will stick, and not run smoothly. This requires taking relevant sashes out to re-route.
Old spiral balances were 13mm, and current ones are 14mm. Add $35 each sash to route the ends out to accommodate 14mm balances. See “spiral balances instal” page for images.
GLASS
Dependent on size, vicinity $150 (very small), $220 (below).
Opaque is cost of glass plus $170.
RePUTTYING
Usually in conjunction with other work, but $120 per hour. Usually about an hour and a half right around the house.
WINDOW ROT REPAIR
Minimum $190
WINDOW CLEANING –
$110 per hour as below. Phone estimates available.
